Jaroslav Zvěřina has invited 50participants from the South Bohemia region to Brussels

Jaroslav Zvěřina, a member of the European Parliament, has invited 50 participants from the South Bohemia region for a two-days trip (30.11. and 1.12.) to Brussels, the capital city of Belgium. Most of the partakers were mayors and representatives of local governments.

What was on the programme: a visit of the building of the European Parliament connected with a lesson on the actual functioning of the European Parliament. Next they had a talk with member Zvěřina, and they watched from the tribune for visitors the plenary session which has been taking its course.

The next day, the journey lead the participants to a visit to the European Commission where they had a quite severe discussion with Mr. Pavel Bouda - a member of the cabinet of the commissioner Vladimír Špidla. They also followed a conference on structural and cohesion funds.

Everybody liked a very kind and nice meeting with Mr. Petr Šebek - a permanent representative of the South Bohemia Region in Brussels, who welcomed the South Bohemians in the building of the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic.

The spare time was devoted to sightseeing of Brussels, where reigns a Christmas atmosphere, and to tasting the local specialties like pralines and waffels.
